MS Terminal Server

Recommended for businesses with greater than 5 users, a Terminal Server provides an effective and reliable way to distribute Windows-based programs within a network server.

Terminal Servers allow fully-featured computer systems and 'thin clients' alike to access a standardised operating environment. This means that all program execution, data processing and data storage occur on the server, centralising the deployment of programs. Terminal Servers ensure that all clients can access the same version of a program. Software is only installed once on the server, rather than on every desktop throughout the organisation, thus reducing the costs associated with updating individual computers.

Following a single point of installation, multiple users can access the desktop on a server that is running a Windows operating system. Users can run programs, save files, and use network resources from their own separate workstations, but it is as if they were all sitting at a single computer.
